Embassy of Concerned Citizens
The "Embassy
of Concerned Citizens" was opened at Ballhausplatz,
Vienna on February 9th, 2000. The everyday activities of the Embassy, a conspicuous
white tent, are run by persons who do not feel represented by the new Austrian
Government. The function of the Embassy is to represent all persons who have
problems with, or because of, the new Government of the People's Party ÖVP and
the Freedom Party FPÖ.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens
serves as a focal point. It will confront decision-makers in Austria
and other countries with any problems and suggestions it is approached with.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens is a centre for persons who want to participate
in political activities or simply express their protest. In addition the Embassy
serves as a centre for networking activities.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens calls upon everybody to act as an ambassador in
his/her personal environment.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens is a nonparty initiative and not affiliated
with any particular organisation.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens advocates further peaceful protest.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens will be open as long as this Government is in
office.
The Embassy
of Concerned Citizens does not only exist in real life, at Ballhausplatz,
but also on the Internet, at: http://www.botschaftbesorgterbuergerInnen.cjb.net/
You may also send an e-mail to:
BotschaftbesorgterBuergerInnen@blackbox.net
We call upon all interested citizens to come to the Embassy at Ballhausplatz, Vienna to express their concerns in a creative way (music, dance, theatre, satirical revue, painting, etc.).
Opening hours: 24 hours a day, until further notice.
